In 1995 Susan Khaliq opened her first care home and founded the company known today as the Gainford Group. Susan is still very hands-on, involved in every aspect of the business which has grown from care homes, nurseries to an ever-growing plethora of bars, restaurants and hotels.
- Managing Director
Imran Khaliq joined the company in 2008 initially focusing on the healthcare service. Over the last ten years, Imran has also grown the hospitality, leisure and childcare offering and as Managing Director oversees all group activity. His focus for the organisation, which employs over 2,500 people, includes huge growth plans, especially in the leisure sector. This growth includes ongoing investments, acquisitions, and the bolstering of the team, which continues to grow in talent.
- Marketing Director
Marketing Director Yasser Khaliq joined the company in 2002 and has been the focal point for all marketing campaigns.
- Operations Director
Having vast financial experience in the leisure industry, Mark uses his expertise gained from working in the leisure industry to focus on operations, site support and ensuring day-to-day operations consistently reach the highest standards.
- Finance Director
Glenn Martin has been with the company since 2002 as Finance Director playing a pivotal role as the business has grown from just one care home. With vast experience in the healthcare sector, Glenn ensures that the finance operation runs efficiently.
- Development Director
Nigel joined the business in 2018 as Development Director. He spent over 7 years as a Partner within Knight Franks Residential Development team working on some of London’s most exclusive developments. This enabled him to build extensive experience consulting on large-scale mix-used developments, master site planning and early stage feasibility studies. His core task is to drive Gainford Group’s ambitious growth and future investment strategies.
- Central Office Manager
Donna Ellis has been with the company since 2002. As Office Manager, Donna is the HR and legal heartbeat of Gainford Group whilst also overseeing all other aspects of the business.
- Accounts Manager
Leanne Kell, Accounts Manager, runs a team of ten experts. Head-office based in Chester-Le-Street, she works across every site providing the KPI's that shape the business.
- Executive Group Chef
Key new appointment Ken Thompson has joined as Executive Group Chef. Ken has held many senior positions but is best known for his influence at 21 Hospitality. Ken's role oversees all things food across Gainford Group’s bars, restaurants, hotels, care homes and nurseries.
