Newcastle nightlife favourite Livello is getting a £1.2m makeover by its owners to ring in some huge changes at the popular bar and nightclub.
And these stunning pictures from architects Space ID show just what we can expect when the red carpet is rolled out at the reopening.
Owners Gainford Group first took over the old Martha’s bar nine years ago when they snapped up the prestigious Vermont Hotel, and immediately set about making it the ultimate experience for the North’s biggest party city, under the new name Livello.
Since then, it has won national and regional awards, an army of regulars – and also become the best place to spot famous faces having welcomed countless celebrities including the Spice Girls, Little Mix, and the cast of the Transformers when they were in town filming the latest installment in the franchise.
Now, however, the Chester-le-Street hotel, leisure, nursery and care group has decided it’s time to give Livello a completely new look.
Everything is being stripped out and totally rebuilt and replaced with new themes and colours, from the existing bars, seating and lighting to soft furnishings and detailed decor, and it will also be extended, by removing of the old conservatory the firm inherited when it bought the business, to replace it with a sizeable new extension.
Planning permission has been granted to extend the bar and club, and the courtyard is also getting a new look, complete with a private garden for VIPs.
Imran Khaliq, director at Gainford Group said: “Livello has been open for eight years and we’ve worked with brands from all over the world to make it a success, and it’s gone from strength to strength, winning awards years after year.
“It’s also become the celebrity hangout for everyone from the Spice Girls to Floyd Mayweather.
“But after nine years we thought it was time to give it a new look. We have made small renovations and changes, but this promises to bring a new and exciting look to Livello.”
Work will start on New Year’s Day and a reopening date will be announced soon.
