Tackling a charity trek in India

The ladies from the North East have set off for an experience of a lifetime with a goal of changing the lives of disabled children in the region.

Fourteen inspirational North East women have jetted off on an opportunity of a lifetime charity trek in India.

Not only will they be taking on the gruelling mission across Kerala, but they will also be guiding blind people along the way.

The annual week-long charity trek is held by the Sunshine Fund who work tirelessly to try and change the lives of local disabled children.

The fund provides specialist equipment for children who can't get it on the NHS but they wouldn't be able to do it without ladies like these.

The women have all pledged to raise at least £3,000 each for taking on the trek and with all of their planned events, they are hoping to reach a target of £40,000.
